Attention CLECO Customers - Cleco has been installing SmartMeters on residential and commercial buildings served by them. There has been no advance notification given, and some customers have been told they have "no choice" in the matter. If you DO NOT WANT a SmartMeter on your home, contact the office of Eric Skrmetta, Public Service Commissioner at 800-228-9368 and let them know you are a Cleco customer and want Cleco to know that you do NOT want a SmartMeter installed on your home. You may also email your info to his assistant Samantha. Her email is: Samantha.Goodwin(at)LA.gov. -- replace (at) with @
You may, if you prefer, contact your Public Service Commissioner directly, but you can still go through Eric's office even if he does not represent your district.
NOT A CLECO CUSTOMER? You still may want to contact their office because sooner or later, your utility system will probably be installing SmartMeters.
