The Iberia Parish council is attempting to raise property taxes in Iberia parish. The milage increase is 17.6 mills above what you are already paying.

If you are in Iberia Parish, you can go to the Iberia parish website under links. http://www.iberiaparishgovernment.com, Scroll down to Iberia Parish Assessor's Office Then go to property and in there you type in your address and it gives you all your info. There you can see what you are already paying in dollar value taxes. Then divide dollar taxable value by 17.6 ( the new millage) and add that value to your old taxes amount and wam your new tax bill if passed.

Some will increase 24% or more!! Out of Control!

Please make every effort to attend the council meeting and let your voices be heard!  Next council meeting at courthouse 4th floor 5:30, Wednesday, 5-23-2012

Also it is very important that you contact your council members and let them know this increase is unacceptable.
