We're all "Preppers"

What's all the excitment about? "Preppers" Here in Southern LA we've all prepped in some way or another. Ever stocked up for that advancing Hurricane? Of course we all have. But I have a confession to make.... I'm bumping it up a level. The memories of Katrine have been stirred up by the scenes of the aftermath of Sandy. The government can only do so much and when they do it usually becomes a cluster *. I would rather be in my home than standing in line waiting for a bottle of water. I would rather rely on myself. Here in LA we know that you need to stock up. You need to fill those water jugs and your bathtubs with extra water. You need to have your BBQ pit supplies ready. Only in LA can we turn hurricane recovery into a block party. See! you're a prepper. I'm learning how to pickle and can from my mother-in-law. Now she's my best friend! Never saw that coming! I don't think I'm a "Doomsday Prepper" but I do see the wisdom. I'm seeing being prepared as being smart. All that talk about falling off the "Fiscal Cliff" applies to my family too. Just this week the Twinkle became no more and more people got laid off. The unemployment rose by A LOT this week (go figure). I'm concern about my job, my husband's job and my boys' jobs... it can all go away so quickly now. Yea, I'm taking it to the next level...
