Hello Ray,  I am writing in reference to the City Council Meeting about the US Flag issue.  There is a set protocol for how a flag is to be flown.  It really has no issue as to if it is a government flag pole or not.  First and for most, we are Americans first.  Therefore the American flag should be flown highest.  It has nothing to do with Gay Rights, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or etc.  http://www.usa-flag-site.org This website has all the pertinent information as to who, what and where about flag flying.  If they want to fly any other flag, it is fine as long as the American flag is flown highest.  It is not even a first amendment issue.  This is apparently something we need to educate our Council members on.  If those individuals who sit on the Council do not agree with this, we as Acadiana Patriot Members should ensure we inform the public when election time approaches.  I will stand behind you 100% on this issue. I am retired Navy and did not spend all that time so some uneducated politician can squander what veterans fought so hard to keep. You can contact me any time on this issue.  I feel so strongly on this issue, I will stand up proudly before this Council and school them on this issue.  I read the newspaper article this morning and the refer to an ordnance.  We don't need another ordnance, because the protocol has already been written.  Respectfully, Shawn Howren
