YOUR PRESENCE IS NEEDED! You want to opt-out? Be at the meeting on December 6th!
On Tuesday, December 6th, the nationwide controversial smart meter will be discussed at the Lafayette City Council Meeting. These meters are planned to go on every home and business in the city starting in January. Both electric and water meters will be changed. The city of Lafayette received a federal grant in the amount of 11.6 million for the electric meters and the people of the city are responsible for the matching 11.6 million plus an additional 9 million for the water meters.
Back in July when first conversations with LUS were held in this matter they were stating that they would not allow anyone to opt-out of having these meters. We NEED you to be at this meeting, bring questions and demand an opt-out be part
If you are unaware of what Smart Meters are please go the home page of www.acadianapatriots.com and view the links.

Comment
I agreed Betsy, that is the drum I have been beating since July! I've asked and emailed people to "Call, & write your Councilman, send certified opt-out letters to LUS" hoping Laf. city residents have done this.
I'll see about finding someone that is super knowledgable on smart meter to come in for this.
Thanks Betsy for all you are doing!
Monica
